Wait, Why Would One Even Use a Cleansing Stick?

You may have noticed that everyone on the Internet is freaking out about cleansing sticks. And as someone who gets overly enthusiastic about washing her face and taking off her makeup, I joined in the hype on this K-Beauty trend.
Almost immediately, I starting Googling all the different versions of cleansing sticks out there and what brands even make 'em. Turns out, there's quite a few. SU:M37's Rose Cleansing Stick ($28; sokoglam.com) seems to be the most popular and sounds like a delight, while boscia makes a Charcoal Deep-Pore Cleansing Stick ($28; sephora.com). Julep also has its own version of a cleansing stick with its Love Your Bare Face balm ($28; julep.com). And if my beauty intuition is even remotely correct, I have a feeling we're going to see these everywhere within a few months.

But my biggest question was… why would I ditch my regular liquid, cream, oil, mud (sorry, I love face wash) for a stick? What does this even do for me? So I went to a derm to get the lowdown.
"A cleansing stick is an easy to handle stick of soap that can target specific areas of the face for deeper cleansing," Dr. Francesca Fusco, a dermatologist at Wexler Dermatology, tells me. "Unlike a bar, which can get slippery, and messy and sit in a gooey puddle, it is clean, easy, elegant, and portable."
Oooh, portable?! I've long struggled with fitting my beauty products and work clothes in my gym bag and also washing my face at a counter 15 other women are trying to use (ugh, post-spin problems), so this would be kind of amazing.
But apart from their convenient size and shape, Dr. Fusco says that cleansing sticks are great for having control over where you apply the formula or target cleansing. For example, she says to can treat the skin near your hair line, nose, or chin.

She also says you can use them to treat blackheads on your T-Zone. Welp, now I have to get my hands on that boscia stick.
